Classroom Readiness Skills

Each week, teachers track your child’s skills to celebrate progress and set new goals. At Robin’s Nest, advancement is based on skills and readiness—not just age—so every milestone paves the way for a confident step into the next classroom.

Independence & Self-Help Skills

Mastering potty training, practicing sharing, and learning daily routines like walking with the rope to bathrooms, lunchroom, gym, and playgrounds.

Language, Recall & Social Learning

Growing recall skills during circle time, expanding vocabulary through reading and theme-based lessons, and fostering social interaction through group activities and imaginative play.

Fine Motor & Pre-Writing Development

Using Handwriting Without Tears to practice grip and control, manipulating writing tools, cutting basic lines, and strengthening small motor coordination through sensory play.

Early Academic Foundations

Building knowledge of colors, shapes, numbers 1–10, counting to 20, the alphabet, letters in their name, and name recognition, while beginning early science and exploration activities.
